本日は、1825年ウィーン製のオリジナル楽器、ヨハン・クレーマー（Johann Krämer）のフォルテピアノで、J.S.バッハの『プレリュード 嬰ハ長調（BWV 848）』をお届けします。
スイスから東京・渋谷のタカギクラヴィアへと戻り、時を置かずにこの曲を弾いたのには、私の中にある深く、個人的な理由があります。
「バッハ（小川）ではなく、大海と呼ぶべきだ」
昨年の11月末、スイスに住む私の親友がこの世を去りました。 彼が旅立つわずか1ヶ月前、私たちはWhatsAppでメッセージを交わしていました。スイス人の彼は、Google翻訳を使い、わざわざ日本語で私にこう伝えてくれたのです。
「めぐみ、ベートーヴェンがバッハをどう讃えたか知っているかい？『彼は小川（Bach）などではない、大海（Meer）と呼ばれるべきだ』と」
西洋音楽の巨大な柱であるバッハに対する、ベートーヴェンの有名な格言です。彼からのそのメッセージに、私は深い感銘を受けました。
一滴の雫（Tropfen）と、永遠の循環
その後、彼の妻からの依頼で、私は彼のお別れの式典でこの『プレリュード 嬰ハ長調』を弾くことになりました。
この曲の細やかな音の動きを聴いていると、まるで小さな水滴（Tropfen）がこぼれ落ちているかのように感じられます。 式典で、私はドイツ語でスピーチをしました。「私たちはこの生を終えた後、どこへ行くのでしょうか。親愛なるあなたは今、一滴の雫となり、自然へ、魂の起源へと還っていったのだと思います」と。
バッハの音楽が持つ力は、悲しみの中にあった私に、彼へ伝えるべき言葉を語る「強さ」を与えてくれました。 命は一つの次元を終えても、決して無に帰すわけではありません。雫が川となり、彼が教えてくれた「大海」へと注ぎ、また天へと昇るように、命は永遠の循環（Eternal cycle）の中にあります。
水の動きを描いたようなこのバッハの小品は、私たち自身がその大いなる循環の一部であることを静かに教えてくれます。 本日は、天国にいる友人への追悼と、今を生きる皆様への祈りを込めて、この曲を共有させていただきます。
Hello everyone, this is Megumi Tanno. Today, I share with you J.S. Bach’s “Prelude in C# Major (BWV 848),” performed on an original 1825 Johann Krämer fortepiano.
I recorded this immediately after returning to Tokyo from Switzerland. There is a deeply personal and profound reason why I chose to play this specific piece for you today.
“Not a Brook, but an Ocean”
At the end of November last year, one of my dearest friends passed away in Switzerland. Just a month before his passing, we were chatting on WhatsApp. My Swiss friend, using Google Translate to write in Japanese, shared a famous quote with me. He reminded me of how Beethoven praised Bach:
“He should not be called a brook (Bach), but an ocean (Meer).”
He wanted to share how Beethoven recognized Bach as the immense, foundational pillar of Western classical music. That message brought me immense joy and stays with me to this day.
Drops of Water (Tropfen) and the Eternal Cycle
Later, his wife asked me to perform at his memorial ceremony. I chose this Prelude in C# Major.
When you listen to the delicate, continuous movement of the notes in this piece, it sounds almost like little drops of water (“Tropfen” in German). At the ceremony, I gathered my courage to speak in German. I pondered where we go after this life ends. I shared my belief that my dear friend had transformed into a drop of water, returning to nature, to the soul, to the very origin from which we all came.
Bach’s music gave me the inner strength I needed to stand there and speak my truth to him. Life does not simply end when we transition to another dimension. Like a drop of water returning to the ocean he spoke of, life is an eternal cycle.
This beautiful piece, with its water-like movement, reminds us that we are all part of this magnificent, eternal cycle. I play this today as a tribute to my friend in heaven, and as a prayer for all of you listening.
